Women’s PPE Improvements Achieved Through Unite Campaigning
Strongly supported by Unite the Union, former HPC Women in Construction Representative Maria Boyle successfully campaigned for the introduction of the first black and yellow safety trousers specifically designed for BYLOR women workers. Although Maria now works for another company on Hinkley Point C, her efforts while serving as a Unite representative helped drive an important change for women across site. Women’s Safety Boots Event a Great Success
The event held on Wednesday 13th March 2026 was a brilliant success, with around 60 women attending to try the 3 different safety boots proposed by BYLOR. In addition to the boots, comfort insoles were also available for workers to test. The purpose of the event was to gather valuable feedback on which products women workers prefer and feel most comfortable wearing on site.
