Women in Construction Support Table launched at Hinkley Point C

On Tuesday 23 June 2026, Sarah Guyon, Women in Construction Representative for Unite the Union, together with Nikoletta Pinter, Senior Health & Safety at G4S, hosted the first Women in Construction Support Table - Unite The Union at Hinkley Point C.

The aim of the support table is to provide an approachable and welcoming space where workers can raise concerns, ask questions, suggest improvements, and find out more about the support available to them. Whether the discussion is about PPE, welfare facilities, maternity, menopause, workplace issues or general wellbeing, everyone is encouraged to stop by and have a conversation.

The initiative received a very positive response, with both women and men visiting the table throughout the session. Many came to ask questions, report issues, share ideas for improvements, or simply learn more about the support available. Visitors also collected Women in Construction lanyard pins and information about Unite's ongoing initiatives to improve working conditions across the project.

Following the success of the first event, the Women in Construction Support Table will now be held once every month across the East, West and North areas of Hinkley Point C, making support more accessible to everyone on site.

Women in Construction lanyard pins are now available and can be collected from the Unite Safety Office at West or at the next Support Table.

Together, we can continue building a safer, more inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone.
