Upcoming Employment Rights Changes – April 2026


These changes represent important progress for working people and reflect long-standing campaigning by trade unions, including Unite, for stronger workplace protections. Day-one rights, improved sick pay, and tougher duties on employers to prevent harassment will help create fairer, safer and more secure workplaces.

Unite will continue to press for full implementation and to support members in understanding and enforcing their rights.
