Bylor update 12.11.20

Update from your Bylor Reps

The Reps have today actioned your officer to try to arrange a meeting with the Bylor Directorate. The Reps are fed up of having to consistently chase issues raised with Bylor due to no answers being given or issues not being closed out. Some examples are; EDF Reinduction not being organised professionally resulting in people doing it on their phones, Grade progression and uplift backdates not being processed in a timely fashion, Holiday carry over for 2021&2022 being changed after agreement with the unions at LJC, Bike to work scheme not being closed out since the summer. It is the view of the Reps that Bylor are not taking your union or the process seriously and are causing unnecessary unrest across the project.

Other issues currently being contested are CSCS card renewal, periodic travel being restricted on NI night shift, minimal consultation practices being used, platforms not being formally addressed regarding shift changes, back dates of uplifts, progression routes for store persons.

Holidays

Holiday requests up to the end of this year and until 31st March next year will not be refused by Bylor. This was confirmed to the Unite Convenor in a meeting to discuss the issue of Bylor changing the pre-agreed arrangement on the holiday carry over.

Vulnerable workers

People who are classed as “clinically extremely vulnerable” in the eyes of the government are now able to receive 80% of their salary whilst following the shielding guidance recently issued by government. If you have received a letter advising you to shield, then please contact Danny Crampsie or Jayne Sims who will arrange this for you. You will be required to provide your letter.

Lodge audit

Those members who were caught out in the recent lodge audit, despite their accommodation address being correct on Bylor’s system may be able to claim back their accommodation allowance. If you have had your lodge money cut then please provide evidence of lodge address and payment of lodge for the period to PJ Wand, pwand@bylor.co.uk or in person at HAW union office. We will then take this forward to Bylor for backdate.

Night shift members

Night shift representation will be changing from 23rd November. John Dobbs has been moved from nights to days meaning that Patrick Barrett will be the lead Steward for night shift. New posters will be issued across site to make sure that Paddy’s contact details are readily available to our night shift members.
