Today marks three years since we lost our dear friend and colleague, Jason Waring, to a tragic accident here at Hinkley Point C on 13 November 2022. Jason was a site supervisor and a good friend to many on site.
On this anniversary, we take a moment to thank everyone who responded on the day of the accident. Colleagues on site and the Hinkley Health team acted quickly and professionally under the most difficult circumstances. Their actions will never be forgotten, and we thank them for doing everything they could for Jason.
Jason’s death is a poignant reminder of why workplace safety can never be compromised. As we pay tribute to him, we renew our commitment to ensuring every colleague returns home safely. We owe it to Jason never to take safety for granted. In his memory, we will continue to push for the highest standards of safety and a culture where everyone looks out for one another.
Today, our thoughts are with Jason’s wife Sarah, his children, and his friends. We know the pain of his loss is still very real for them, and we stand with them now, as we always will. We honour Jason by continuing to look out for one another.
In solidarity,
Unite HPC branch
