Disruption to outbound west secure bus services - 23-29 November

Please be aware that there will be significant disruption to the outbound west secure bus services from HPC between Monday 23 November and Sunday 29 November.

This is to enable essential IT and infrastructure changes which will enable the completion of an enhanced secure bus operating area.

There will be no west secure bus services from HPC between 23 November and 29 November. Secure bus services to HPC will not be impacted.

The following disruptions to the secure bus service will take place Monday 23 November and Sunday 29 November:

Cancelled: West secure bus services from HPC

Replacement: Additional standard bus services will depart from North Plaza in accordance with the secure bus timetable

Normal service will resume on Monday 30 November.

There may be some minor disruption to staff members transiting through entrance and exit turnstiles to HPC Site.

If you have any questions about the updated bus timetable or general comments on travel, please contact HPC Travel (hpc.travel@nnb-edfenergy.com).

Our Shop Steward/Health & Safety Rep has been on suspension for 4 weeks and still has not had his hearing. This Rep was a pro-active member of our team and very vocal in the LJC meetings. He has previously won our recruiter of the month award and is a valued member of our team.

We are extremely unhappy with the way this is being dealt with and the Unite Reps across the project are preparing to support him in whatever way possible. This is an attack on a Unite Shop Steward and will not be tolerated.

He has been at HPC for over 4 years with a clean disciplinary record.

At this moment, we only have one Shop Steward available (Eric Verrecchia), so any issues are to be channelled through Eric for the time being.

We have four Health & Safety Reps (Ben Golding, Michael Cuthbertson, Dave Benson and Paul McGowan). Any health and safety issues need to be directed to these (contact details are on notice boards).

We will keep you updated on the situation regarding our extremely experienced and qualified Shop Steward/Health & Safety Rep. Watch this space for updates!

A safety stand down was held for the entire workforce. This was a timely reminder and also an opportunity to refresh the minds of people due to the recent incidents that have happened.  The feedback has been positive regarding these briefings and there will be more in the New Year.

We have a new Health & Safety Rep (Rob Healy) who will be visible from next week as he will be conducting weekly safety tours and attending specific meetings. If you have any health and safety concerns, please speak with Rob or Jonathan Davies. For any other issues, please contact Jonathan Davies as the Senior Rep.
