New Absence Reporting Form - BYLOR

We want to make all Unite members aware that Bylor will be introducing a new Workforce Absence form within the app from Tuesday, 7th April.

This is a process being implemented by the employer, and it is important that all members understand what is required to avoid any issues.

What this means for you

If you are unable to attend work for any reason, you will now be required to log your absence using the new form in the app.

  • Absences must be reported as soon as possible

  • And no later than 30 minutes after the start of your shift

  • This must be done on a daily basis for the duration of your absence

Information you will need to provide

The form will require the following details:

  • Name, Employee Number, SAP Number and Platform

  • Explanation for your absence

  • Date of absence

  • Signature

Important changes to how absence is reported

  • Reporting absence by phone call, voicemail, or text message will no longer be accepted

  • Informing your line manager, supervisor, or office does not mean your absence is authorised

  • The absence phone line will be discontinued after Monday, 30th April

  • After this date, all absence notifications must be submitted via the form only

Sick Pay Update (Effective April 2026)

From April 2026, the employer will now pay sick pay from day 1 of absence.

What you need to do

For absences lasting 1 to 7 days:

  • You must complete a Self-Certification (SSP) form

  • This form should be submitted to Payroll on your first day back on site

Please see the SSP form attached below.

Note: If your sickness lasts longer than 7 days, you will be required to provide a doctor’s sick note (fit note).

Unite Advice to Members

We strongly advise all members to:

  • Familiarise yourselves with the new system as soon as possible

  • Make sure you are able to access and use the app without issues

  • Submit your absence within the required timeframe (no later than 30 minutes after shift start)

  • Keep a personal record of any absence submissions where possible

If you experience any problems with the system, please contact comms@bylor.co.uk.

We will continue to monitor how this system is implemented and support members where necessary.
