This is Anti-Bullying week 2023! (13-17 Nov)

Workplace bullying and harassment not only takes a significant toll on employees but it can also cultivate a toxic culture and have a detrimental impact on an organisation's reputation.

Sometimes disguised as 'banter', bullying and harassment can take many forms. However, it's critical that workers and organisations understand that it's about how the behaviour or comments were perceived, not how they were intended.

Whilst individuals are personally accountable for their actions, employers carry a duty of care to proactively prevent these behaviours. Neglecting to take reasonable steps to stop bullying or harassment could lead to organisations being held liable, too.

If you are a Unite the union member, one of our workplace representatives will be able to discuss the issue with you, provide support and offer further information, advice and guidance.
