Unite the Union supports the UK Government initiative published through the Department for Transport to encourage individuals to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution as well as encouraging a healthier lifestyle whilst away from work.
So with the above in mind we have put together a basic survey which will help Unite gauge the level of interest in trying to implement this scheme into your workplace.
Aim & Scope
The principal aim of this policy is to provide a national policy of support to any UK based employee who wishes to take advantage of the tax free status of the UK government scheme by using an approved third party provider to administer and operate the scheme.
The policy will enable employees who choose to take part in this policy to purchase cycle(s) and cycling equipment using a salary sacrifice mechanism and in the process allowing individuals’ to benefit from income tax reductions.
